HC withdraws notices served on YSR and Dharmaana

Hyderabad, Aug  18 :

 The Andhra Pradesh High  Court on Tuesday withdrew the notices served on Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy and Revenue  Minister Dharmaana Prasada Rao. The notices  issued asking them to appear before  the  court  with regard to encroachment of  Government assigned lands  by YSR in Idupulapaya which is in Kadapa district. This decision to withdraw the notices was taken at the behest of Advocate General.

As reported earlier the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) case filed by senior Telugu Desam Party leader P Ashoka Gajapathi Raju against Chief Minister Rajasekhara Reddy  will come for hearing  on September 9. The postponement of the  case is in accordance with the order issued by a division bench of Andhra Pradesh High Court comprising Justice D S R Varma and Justice R Kantha Rao.

The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Monday served notices on Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and Dharmana Prasada Rao asking them to   present themselves before  the court  in a case with regard to encroachment of government assigned lands by YSR in  Idupulapaya which is in Kadapa district.

TDP leader Ashok Gajapathi Raju filed this PIL two years ago with the High Court alleging that YSR has trespassed  the provisions of Forest Act, Land Reforms Act, Land Encroachment Act, AP Assigned Lands Act among others. On this issue the High Court had earlier served notices on the State Government.
