Balakrishna ready to rise to the occasion

“I may take the reins of Telugu Desam party if needed,” stated actor and late NTR’s son N Balakrishna.

Balakrishna made this startling revelation to newsmen here on Monday. He said “I will take the reins of TDP to restore its glory, if such a need arises.”

Balakrishna's statement assumes significance in the wake of the remarks of NTR’s widow Lakshmi Parvati that “Chandrababu should hand over the party reins to Balakrishna and make him TDP president.”   

“If, he hands over the party reins to Balakrishna, the party will get back its glory,” she had said. However, Balakrishna said he has not yet made up his mind over the issue.

Earlier, raising a banner of revolt against Chandrababu Naidu, party MLA from Nellore N Prasannakumar Reddy pitched for a change of guard as the leadership had failed to capture power in the elections.
