Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Thursday postponed his `Odarpu yatra’ in the Telangana region due to `Laila’ cyclone which battered the coastal Andhra districts.
As per schedule , the MP’s Odarpu Yatra is supposed to take place between Mahabubabad and Jangaon in Warangal district on May 28. However, the MP has decided to reschedule his yatra in the wake of cyclone which caused extensive damage in the coastal districts.
The yatra triggered controversy following remarks by Telugu Desam Party leader from the Telangana region Errabelli Dayakar Rao that he would not allow Odaarpu yatra in the Telangana districts. Errabelli said the Telangana people would not allow Jagan’s yatra for his anti-Telangana stand.
However, Errabelli was chided by his own party chief and other memebers of hisparty fortrying to obstruct the yatra.
