Hardly within a week of the Mahanadu in Gandipet where all the TDP cadres rendered vociferous support to the TDP chief are now at loggerheads with him over the selection of Rajya Sabha candidates.

The choice of Sujana Chowdary, a business tycoon, created a flutter among the party leaders. In fact, some of the leaders sarcastically asked the party administration to sell the RS ticket through public auction.

Many leaders have shown resentment over the choice of Sujana Chowdary. The TDP chief was put in a piquant situation.  Trying to appease all the leaders from Telangana, Chandrababu held lengthy discussions with the leaders of the region separately on Thursday.

After hours of debate, the Politburo of TDP was still undecided on the choice of the second  candidate. The one person who seems to have an outside chance was Gangadhar Goud of  Nizambad. He stands a chance. However, the final choice of  the candidate will only be made public late in the evening.

Sources in the TDP say that there is every likelihood that many leaders would prefer to leave the TDP than stay disgruntled in the event of Chandrababu Naidu giving the party ticket to the rich people like Sujana Chowdary.
