With the Monsoon winds fast approaching, the State administration is gearing up to meet the spread of vector-borne disease in Andhra Pradesh, said Minster for Health Danam Nagender.
To this effect the Government is i planning fill in the 759 vacant nurse posts and 2434 doctor posts. The administration is also stepping up its preparations to meet the challenges on the water front by providing pure drinking water.
In order to hold a check on the spread of disease during the rainy season, the Government is planning to keep the roads and ponds clean. About 12 lakhs of mosquito nets will be provided to people in the rural areas for protection against the mosquitoes.
The Minister appealed to the Centre to be generous in granting the funds to the state.Danam directed the officials to come up with a comprehensive village-wise action plans and precautions to control the spread of vector-born diseases.
As per the latest reports from the Meteorological Department, monsoon is likely to advance all over the state in the next 48 hours.
