Allaying fears of swine-flu deaths in the state, Minister for Health and Family Welfare Danam Nagender on Tuesday said there was no need to panic as the government machinery has taken adequate steps to control the epidemic.
Releasing a poster on swine-flu, the Minister asked people to consult doctors if they suffer from symptoms like nagging cough, running nose or flu for over three days.
He said reports of a swine-flu death at Visakhapatnam was yet to be confirmed by the health officials. The lab report was yet to be received, he stated.
Stating the state has reported seven cases this year, he said the government had equipped all hospitals with facilitates to tackle the menace.
Meanwhile, a pregnant woman died at Gandhi Hospital while undergoing treatment for seven days on the suspected symptoms of influenza.
The victim has been identified as Jaya, who hailed from Zaherabad in Medak district.However, the officials are yet to confirm her death.
