The Telangana Rashtra Samiti MP from Medak, Vijay Shanti was granted bail on Saturday following her arrest at the behest of Election Commission.
As reported earlier, Vijay Shanti was arrested on Saturday while she was proceeding to Siddipet to accompany Harish Rao to file his nomination.
She was produced before the Nampalli courts here on Saturday afternoon.The court remanded Vijaya Shanti to a 14-day judicial custody after which she was shifted to the Chanchalguda Jail. Her advocates, however, moved a bail petition.
The TRS activists created a commotion at her Banjara Hills residence as the police went to arrest her. However, the police dispersed the TRS supporters before arresting her.

Before proceedng to Siddipet she addressed a press conference at her residence in the morning. During the press meet the cine actor-turned politician said ``I am ready to face arrest. I am not afraid of being arrested but I would like to know on what basis the case has been filed against me.’’
``I will be leaving for Siddipet to see Harish Rao who will be filing his nomination papers today. Later, I will be taking part in a Padayatra at Dubbaka. So, the police can arrest me at any time and we will not use any force to ressist the arrest,’’ she observed.
