Telugu Desam leader N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday urged Chief Minister K Rosaiah to release Rs 48 crore for the training of paramedical staff.
In a letter to Chief Minister, Naidu stated the government had promised to train 51,000 paramedics for two years.
However, it had released a paltry sum for the training, Naidu stated. The government had released Rs 4.32 crore so far, which is not adequate for slide projectors and books. Hence, only 3,300 candidates were trained.
The paramedical staff will play a major role in primary health centres in villages and assist the doctors. Naidu asked the government to give priority for training paramedics and encourage them with stipend.
