Mayor's top priority drainage

Mayor Karthika Reddy on Saturday vowed to solve the drainage problem in the city.

During a padayatra in Tarnaka division with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation officials, she told mediapersons the padayatra was launched to identify the problems in the all wards and to redress them in a phased manner.

A ward committee meeting will be organized in a week with local leaders and corporator to redress the problems in Tarnaka division, she said.

A meeting will be organized from July 5 to July 11 to discuss the drainage problem in the city and take steps for redressing the issues, she stated.

The mayor made it clear her top priority was to drainage problem in the city.Her statement assumed importance as heavy rains lashing the city exposing the loopholes in the drainage system.
