Cong directive to unofficial candidates in fray

Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee on  Saturday threatened to take disciplinary action against all candidates who filed their papers in a bid to contest in the ensuing by-elections.

The candidates were asked to withdraw from the polls at the earliest lest it goes to the notice of Congress High Command and invite trouble. The rebel candidates have filed nominations in Dharmapuri, Vemulavada, Sircilla, Huzurabad and Korutla Assembly constituencies of Karimnagar district in anticipation of their party fielding them.

However, the APCC asked them to withdraw their nominations on or before July 12 in the interest of the party and its official candidates and work for the success of the party, a press release said here on Saturday.
