Ishan Reddy, an engineering graduate committed suicide by dousing himself with kerosene before setting himself ablaze.
Ishan Reddy’s immolation death has created tension on Ou Campus on Saturday. The police forces were deployed in large numbers to meet any untoward situation.
In a suicide note left behind, Ishan Reddy had mentioned that he vowed to offer himself as a sacrifice to local dfeity Mysamma if Telangana Rashtra Samiti makes a clean sweep in the byelections. Justifying the drastic step of committing suicide, Reddy requested the authorities not to conduct post-mortem on his body.
In the note, Ishan stated that he offered prayed for the defeat of PCC president D Srinivas in the by-elections and expressed gratitude to the voters of Telangana region for fulfilling his wish.
The Engineering graduate thanked Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K Chandrasekhara Rao for spearheading the Telangana agitation. He termed D Srinivas, Jana Reddy, Damodar Reddy and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy of Congress, Kadiam Srihari, Nagam Janardhan Reddy and Erraballi Dayakar of Telugu Dessam as ''traitors of Telangana''.
In the letter, Reddy suggested that his body be taken in a procession from Osmania University Arts College to the Gun Park where the memorial of Telangana martyrs is located.
The deceased hails from Basvatapur village of Medak district. He finished his B.Tech at St Ann’s Enginering College of Technology of Ibrahimpatna. He was undergoing coaching for GRE Tofel at Naryanaguda.
