The counting in the just concluded byelections have removed all apprehensions of political parties on the genuineness of the efficacy of the Electronic Voting Machines.
Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) I.V Subba Rao told newsmen at the Secretariat here on Saturday that the counting which began at 8 a.m on Friday continued till 4 a.m on Saturday. Telangana Rashtra Samiti won 11 seats while BJP bagged the other seat, he added.
By and large the counting and polling were peaceful and there was no violence or complaints about major malpractices barring one or two incidents, he noted.
The CEO thanked the media and the officials for cooperating with the Election Commission in the successful conduct of the byelections and assured the people that they would like to conduct the elections with more transparency in future.
