Animal haunts Ram Gopal Varma

Maverick Director Ram Gopal Varma is known for his sensational comments on social media. His comments on social media regarding various celebrities often landed him in trouble. It is known that he is facing charges for his insulting and insinuating posts and morphed videos on AP CM Chandra Babu Naidu and Dy CM Pawan Kalyan and he is avoiding police questioning.

Animal a Polarising Blockbuster

In the midst of all this, Ram Gopal Varma, speaking to scribes spoke about Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal which featured Ranbir Kapoor in the lead. The film turned out to be a blockbuster despite various critics and celebrities blasted the film for its content and extreme violence.

Ram Gopal Varma said the extreme violence in Animal haunts him even today. He said "It was more impactful than seeing armies fighting each other. In fact, I remember narrating Shiva to Nagarjuna when he was shooting for Agni Putrudu. I told him that the violence in Shiva would be more gritty than bombs being burst and knives being slashed."

He added "I felt the same thing with Ranbir's scenes in Animal, especially the low-angle shot. It haunts me even now."
