Karthik Subbaraj on Mahaan 2

Chiyaan Vikram and his son Dhruv shared screen presence in Mahaan. The film was directly released on Amazon Prime on 10 Feb 2022 and it starred Simran, Bobby Simha, Sananth, Vettai Muthukumar and Deepak Paramesh in key roles.

Now, Karthik Subbaraj speaking to scribes shared  “I have a small idea for Mahaan 2, but I need to write it. It will likely be 2027–2028 by the time the film happens,”

Mahaan revolved around Gandhi Mahaan, a quiet commerce teacher whose life spirals after his wife leaves him, pushing him into the world of illicit liquor trade. Years later, his son returns as a strict Gandhian police officer, leading to a tense ideological and emotional clash between the two.

Karthik Subbaraj on the professional front  had his last release Retro with Suriya and Pooja Hegde in the lead. Dhruv Vikram was see in Bison directed by Maari Selvaraj. Vikram is starring in the direction of newcomer Bodi Rajkumar and Shruti Haasan is touted to be the female lead.
