Mani Ratnam's Mahesh Film Title Veerudu!

The Telugu version of ace Mani Ratnam's upcoming bilingual, being made in Tamil and Telugu as the screen adaptation of popular Tamil novel 'Ponniyin Selvan', has been reportedly titled Veerudu.

The makers have retained the novel's name as the title of the Tamil version. The film, produced by Kalanidhi Maran under the banner of Sun Pictures, stars Vijay, Arya and Anushka in the lead.

Vijay will play the courageous warrior Vallavarayan Vandiyatheyan and Mahesh Babu will play king Aditha Karikalan. Arya will be Arulmozhi Varman in the film, which has Anushka as Mahesh Babu’s younger sister and Vijay’s love interest. Ilaiyaraaja is scoring music. The film is now in pre-production stages.
