28th April; A day of Industry Hits

28th April is a special day for Tollywood, as two movies, which were released on different years went on industry hits. On 28th April, 1977, legend NTR's 'Adavi Ramudu' movie was released. Before the release of this movie, there were not many expectations on the movie, as NTR was facing a series of failures, except his 'Daanaveerasoora Karna'. However, the movie received unanimous hit talk on day one and subsequently, went on industry hit breaking all the previous records. 

On 28th April, 2006, Prince Mahesh Babu's 'Pokiri' movie was released. This movie had also no expectations among the audience as Mahesh Babu and the director Puri Jagannadh were facing hardships with a row of flops in their career then. Finally, the movie proved to be an industry hit and ran 50 day in 150 centers, 100 days in 137 direct centers and 175 days in 48 direct centers.
