'Mooga Manasulu' Completes 50 Years

Padma Vibhushan, late Dr.Akkineni Nageswara Rao's 'Mooga Manasulu' was released on 30th January, 1964 and completed 50 years on 30th January of 2014. The theme of the movie was based on reincarnations, the first of its kind among Telugu films. The movie turned out to be the biggest blockbuster of the year then. ANR, Savitri, Jamuna and Padmanabham's terrific performances enthralled the audiences then. 

Music of the movie was composed by KV Mahadevan. All the songs in this movie turned mega hits and they are heard even today. 'Eenati ee bandhamenaatido', 'Muddabanthi poovulo', 'Paduthaa theeyaga challagaa', 'Naa paata nee nota palakalio chilaka', 'Godari gattundi gattumeenaa chettundee', 'Maanoo maakunu kaanu' etc. are some of the great melodies from this movie. Acharya Atreya wrote the songs. Directed by Adurthi Subbarao, 'Mooga Manasulu' was shot at Kotipalli Revu of East Godavari District.
