All the opposition political parties, AP NGOs and the people of AP participated for united AP agitation quite actively when the Congress Party had decided to divide the state two years ago. However, their agitations took ugly turn when some opposition parties and some media houses tried to politicize the issue. They tried to target only few politicians to gain the political benefits. Moreover, caste factors played vital role in those agitations. Eventually, the 'Samaikyandhra Movement' was failed and the state divided. More unfortunately, Union Territory status demand of Hyderabad, put forth by some of the leaders was also sidelined due to political issues.
It seems 'AP Special Status' demand of the political parties is going on the same path of Union AP demand. Way back, when the Congress party launched one crores signatures campaign on AP's Special Status, no political party has shown interest on that demand. Gradually, the demand got intensified and all the opposition parties are now demanding AP's Special Status. On the other side, the ruling TDP is also indirectly supporting Chalasani Srinivas, hero Sivaji, Karem Sivaji and others. However, instead of demanding for AP's Special Status, some of the agitators are blaming other politicians who have not joined the movement. Moreover, they slinging mud on some of their rival politicians who sincerely fighting for AP's Special Status and media encouraging these people to the core. If the same situation is continued, undoubtedly AP's Special Status demand will also get misfired like Samaikyandhra Movement.
