Four movies with different genres hit the screens this Sankranthi and done great business during the first weekend of their run due to the advantage of festival season. Also, the movies enjoyed the fruits of midnight shows and extra shows. As such additional collections have been compensated with the less number of screens allotted for each movie due to heavy competition.
As we all know, exact status of any movie can be known with the first Monday's collections. As per trade reports, King Nagarjuna's 'Soggade Chinni Nayana' hasn't stopped its domination at the box office. The movie rocked with full houses/ good collections in almost all theaters wherever it was released. Meanwhile, the movie collected a share of Rs.14.33 crores world wide at the end of its first weekend's run.
Among other films, 'Express Raja' is pretty decent today and has been credited the first movie to have reached break even among Sankranthi films. The movie is expected to have crossed Rs.7 crores share with today's collections. However, considerable dip in collections of 'Dictator' and 'Naannaku Prematho' has been noticed though the movies lived upto the expectations of target audience.
