Does Prabhas Suit for Bhaktha Kannappa?

Rebel Star Krishnam Raju's 'Bhaktha Kannappa' was one of the remarkable devotional hit films of Tollywood. The movie which was released on May 29, 1976, ran 50 days in 25 centers, 100 days in 6 centers and silver jubilee in Hyderabad. 

As the movie gets completed 40 years of its release, Krishnam Raju shared his views about this master piece with a leading Telugu daily. Krishnam Raju disclosed that 'Bhaktha Kannappa' would be remade with Young Rebel Star Prabhas as a hero and the movie will kick start soon after completion of 'Baahubali 2' and Sujith's romantic entertainer. Further he added 14 worlds movement will be shot in the climax scene of the movie extraordinarily. 

Although, the veteran Rebel Star is quite interested in making 'Bhaktha Kannappa' on his own banner, how far the character suits to Prabhas needs to be discussed. Prabhas' handsome look definitely matches him reprising his padananna's highly popular role. But then, Prabhas should display far better performance than 'Baahubali' as a devotee of lord Shiva. The movie should meet the demands of present day audience. Above all, prabhas gradually confines himself into mythological roles and is distancing from the roles of the youth of present generation which may obstruct him in competing with other stars. And last but not the least, 'Baahubali 2' should also score equally well as 'Baahubali' did. Wish that Prabhas will get rid of all these obstacles in style and does 'Bhaktha Kannappa'.
