Pvp Cinema’s entry into South Indian cinema circuit was little shaky. Their high budgeted projects like ‘Varna, Size Zero’ and ‘Bangalore Naatkal’ bombed miserably at Box Office. Although critics started to wipe off this production house for running into huge losses, Prasad V Potluri struck to his passion of serving innovative projects to Telugu audience. Thus ‘Kshanam’ and ‘Oopiri’ evolved as back to back hits restoring faith of viewers on Pvp Cinema banner.

In fact, there was huge demand for ‘Kshanam’ remake rights in all languages and PVP played safe by selling off those rights at decent prices. Now, the same is happening for ‘Oopiri.’ After the initial positive buzz for film in TS, AP and Tamil Nadu, now Bollywood critics have began to pour the appreciations.

Instead of providing an opportunity for other banners in Bollywood to plan a remake of ‘The Intouchables/Oopiri’ in Hindi language, Prasad V Potluri can go ahead to Mumbai and produce it with top stars. Films in this experimental, emotional-feel good genre with vast scope for artists to explore their inner talents, Bollywood provides a better reach.

With a strong casting like Amitabh Bachchan or Shah Rukh Khan or youngsters like Ranbeer Kapoor or Ranveer Singh, probably ‘Oopiri’ can be a safe product in Hindi. Of course, PVP and Picturehouse Media Limited being corporate figurines… they may not find any problem in marketing the products too. Let’s hope to see Prasad V Potluri taking a big haul.
