Megastar Chiranjeevi was last seen as a hero in 'Shankardada Zindabad' released in 2007. There was no single film of Chiranjeevi as a hero was released in the previous decade. However, Chiranjeevi played cameo roles in 'Magadheera' and ''Bruce Lee'.

Looking into Chiranjeevi's filmography for the last 20 years starting from 1997 to till date, 17 movies of Chiranjeevi, as a hero, were released. Movies such as Hitler, Master, Bavagaru Bagunnara, Choodalani Vundi, Sneham Kosam, Annayya, Sri Manjunadha, Indra, Tagore, Shankardada MBBS and Stalin got the statuses ranging from industry hit to hits while 'Iddaru Mitrulu' stood as an average grosser. 

Since Chiranjeevi's track for past 20 years looked quite impressive, it does automatically turn as an advantage for Chiranjeevi's 'Khaidi Number 150'. Movie lovers, however, felt 150th was eagerly awaited mostly because audience wanted to watch their favourite number one star on silver screen as the Megastar didn't appear on screen for the past 10 years.
