In a recent interview, Lyca Productions creative head Raju Mahalingam revealed some important facts on the Rajinikanth, Shankar combo Robo 2.0

He said that the final product is estimated to be made on a budget of 400 crore. Since 2.0 is being made on national level, there is no need to worry about budget for a project of this stature.

Main reason for hike in budget is the VFX work. Never before in the history of Indian cinema will you get to watch this type of VFX work, he reiterated.

The belief in script and the likes of Shankar, Rajini and Akshay Kumar made them comply with the budget.

'To work with Rajini Sir is a dream came true. He is such a wonderful actor and a very nice human being.

Initially it is true that we tried to rope in Arnold Schwarzenegger but somehow things didn’t work out for a few conditions. His remuneration is not a reason.

We are happy to have worked with Akshay Kumar. His role will be one of the best villain characters ever witnessed in the history of world cinema.

Robo 2.0 will release on January 25th 2018. We will release the movie in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Chinese, Korean and Japanese languages.

Later, we will dub in rest of the important languages.

2.0 will be on par with the Hollywood style of Robo movies if not better than those. We need the support of media and viewers. For sure, we are proud to take Indian cinema to international level.

After 2.0,  we are planning to launch a big budget movie in Telugu. We have earlier involved in production for Chiranjeevi’s Khaidhi No 150,' added Lingam.
