Action hero Gopichand and young crazy mass director Sampath Nandi's latest offing 'Gautham Nanda' was released on 28th of July and carried mixed reports in the media. Even then, the film sustained with quite good collections in its first weekend run and is still running with steady collections in theatres.
Sampath Nandi's all three previous films were made as complete commercial potboilers and scored super hits. However, for the first time in his career, Sampath tried a decent film reducing commercial elements in Gautham Nanda as there are just 4 songs in the film with no single song inducted during the last 45 minutes.
In addition to this, the director conveyed thought provoking message 'Dhanam Moolam Idham Jagath'. Touching dialogues like 'Ammunna chota akali vundadhu', 'Naa kandalu karigitheneraa...neeku kandalu vachchindi.' etc. evoked senses of the audiences.
It spite of the film being made as a morale booster, audiences, perhaps, wanted a regular commercial entertainer from Sampath Nandi wherein he carved a niche before.
On the flip side, the makers should have promoted the film more aggressively so that movie could reach to next level. Publicity also seems to be one of the major issues as the movie is stable running but weak promotions costing heavy on Gautham Nanda.
Hope, the makers of Gautham Nanda do start promotions and keep the good word of mouth so that it would be treated the best offing by Sampath Nandi and Gopichand.
