Chiru Films: R Narayana Murthy Wrong Notion

The other day, 'Tera Venuka Dasari' book was launched by Megastar Chiranjeevi and the event was attended by industry's bigwigs like Mega Producer Allu Aravind, T Subbaami Reddy, Thammareddy Bharadwaj, Murali Mohan and R Narayana Murthy.

As usually, R Narayana Murthy delivered quite an emotional speech. However, in his flow of words he appeared to have committed some blunders. While addressing Megastar Chiranjeevi, R Narayana Murthy said, 'NTR had so many films to be remembered, Krishna had Alluri Seetharama Raju and Shobhan Babu had Sampoorna Ramayanam. But then, Chiranjeevi had none of such films". Having said so, Narayana Murthy wished Megastar's Sye Raa Narasimhareddy would fulfill that gap. 

R Narayana Murthy might have thought different movies with different genres like mythologies and historical films only stand as classics. That's why, he even dared to say an ordinary hit film Sampoorna Ramayanam as a great film for Shobhan Babu. In such case, Chiranjeevi's Sri Manjunadha could also have joined that category of great films. But then, why didn't RNM mention it? 

All India Number one heroes like Amitabh Bachchan, Chiranjeevi and Rajinikanth got their numero uno positions without doing mythologies and period entertainers. In short, they created history without doing historical films. 

Interestingly, Chiranjeevi's Khaidi, which stood as the trend setter, got more views on youtube than many mythologies of yesteryears. Likewise, many films of Chiranjeevi have 10 times more views than films of other heroes irrespective of genres and successes in respective years.

"As a matter of fact, whichever the film is mostly liked by the audience stand as a classic," a common audience said. In such scenario, Chiranjeevi has many classics and master pieces. There are lakhs of fans who have the ability of uttering evey dialogue of Chiranjeevi's films. In contrast, many movie fans don't even have good knowledge on classics as mentioned by people like RNM.

The prime reason Chiranjeevi doing Sye Raa is to get his film acquire the status of Pan Indian film post Baahubali's release. Else, there will be no loss for Chiranjeevi even if he doesn't take up Sye Raa.
