One of the most glamorous heroines of 1950s and 60s, Krishna Kumari is no more. She breathed her last in a private hospital in Bengaluru on 24th of January, 2018. She was 85 and is survived by daughter Deepa. Krishna Kumari, who belonged to Brahmin community, was the younger sister of actress Shavukaru Janaki. Krishna Kumari, who was the contemporary heroine of Savithri, acted a total of 110 films.

Krishna Kumari was born on March 6, 1933. She made her film debut as a heroine in Navvithey Navarathnalu released in 1951. Thereupon, Krishna Kumar played opposite to then top heroes, NTR, ANR, Kantharao, Jaggiah, Raj Kumar, Sivaji Ganeshan and others.

Krishna Kumari worked for many super hits and blockbusters such as Vinayaka Chavithi, Bharya Bharthalu, Kulagothralu, Lakshadhikari, Doctor Chakravarthy, Gudigantalu, Guruvuni Minchina Sishyudu, Jwaladweepa Rahasyam, Iddaru Monagallu, Chikkadu Dorakadu, Ummadi Kutumbam, Thikka Shankarayya and many others. 

Contemporary audience of Krishna Kumari's generation and old film lovers are mourning with the demise of the glamorous queen and great performer. Cinejosh is immensely saddened with the death of Krishna Kumari. We pay our condolences to her family. May her soul rest in peace!
