After dillydallying, the ruling Telugu Desam Party fielded two TDP men CM Ramesh and Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar for the two Rajyasabha seats out of three. Initially, BC leader Varla Ramaiah's name had come into the picture.
Leaving a shocker to everyone, Varla was replaced by Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar at the eleventh hour. CM Ramesh has been familiar for lobbying in Delhi which also made him fielded second time consecutively for upper house polls.
On the other hand, K Ravindra Kumar has worked as a key man for TDP's legal cell. While CM Ramesh belongs to Kamma community KRK hails from Velama caste.
Varla's supporters were heavily disappointed for his name being rejected for MP candidate.
Meanwhile, the biennial polls in upper house will be held on March 23. On the other hand, Telangana CM KCR finalised the names Santhosh Kumar, Banda Prakash Mudiraj and Badugula Lingaiah Yadav for Rajyasabha candidature.
