Government servants of all cadres of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states have eagerly been awaiting the formation of Pay Revision Commission (PRC) for the hike of their salaries. These PRCs are formed for every five years.

Based on the existing status of inflation and the hike of prices of daily commodities, PRCs usually submit their reports to the governments with sufficient hike of pay scales for the salaried.

In the wake of employees protests, the Telangana government formed a three membered committee yesterday. What is more interesting step taken by the government is that the government ordered the committee to submit its report within three months.

On the contrary, the AP government has also released a G.O. which states that the PRC committee would produce the report after a year. Strangely, no chairman and members were appointed in the aforesaid G.O. Perhaps, the AP government may not hike salaries during their tenure. In contrast, Kcr is determined to hike employees salaries within three months. "This simply shows the credibility of both the governments," says an observer.
