Star director Mani Ratnam's Nawab is making powerful impact in Kollywood and got good reviews for the Telugu version as well. But there is no denying the fact that Nawab starring Aravind Swamy, Simbu, Arun Vijay etc will attract only one section of movie lovers and cannot satisfy all sections of viewers. Except in centers like Hyderabad, the collections are slow in other areas. 

Nawab also faced plagiarism allegations. Even before the film release, rumors spread that Mani Ratnam got inspired from Hollywood classic The God Father based on which he took his own Nayagan (Nayakudu). Now people who watched the film felt that the film has similarities with 2013 Korean film New World. The makers however denied these allegations. Kollywood fans however say the film is inspired by epic novel Ponniyin Selvan authored by Kalki Krishnamurthy.

In the meantime Tollywood movie lovers are wondering who escaped from the clutches of Nawab. Sometime back rumours spread that Mani Ratnam planned a film with Mahesh Babu, Nagarjuna and Ram Charan. Buzz is he narrated Nawab story and planned to cast either of them in the role of Simbu. Telugu movie lovers after watching the film felt that they smartly escaped from Nawab clutches.
