Polling Agents Must Follow These Rules

Although political parties' heads strive to the core for the victory of their political parties, the polling booth electioneering will ultimately make them win or lose the election battle. especially, the role being performed by Polling Agents turns the most crucial factors in the last minute electioneering. Following are some of the rules which must be followed by the Polling Agents for their parties' victory.

* Polling Agents should bring filled up form 10 a day prior to the day of polling and get it signed by presiding officer. Also, he should obtain entry pass from PO.

* On the day of polling every polling agent must attend sharp at 5:30 am to the polling booth for the mock polling. Although, it was mentioned the mock polling would start at 6:00 am, all the collectors instructed POs to start the same by 5:30 only so as to ensure actual poll starts at 7:00 am. 

* The Polling Agents should verify if all blue buttons are rightly working or not. Later, they should compare whether VVPATs paper slips are tallied with the number of votes polled shown by display portion of control unit or not.

* Under any circumstances, Polling Agents should not take cellphones inside polling booths and should not let other agents to bring mobile phones. Except PO, all other polling personnel should switch their mobiles off.

* The Polling Agents should not enter voting compartments. It must be remembered that there's web cast in every polling booth. 

* Some of the Polling Agents leave the booth at 4 or 5 pm which is surely a suicidal attempt. There will be last minute manipulations. As such, every polling agent must stay in polling booth upto 6 pm and should get duly filled in 17C form issued by PO. It must be remembered that 17C form is very important at the time of counting of votes. 

* Polling Agents should affix their signatures wherever necessary and ensure that the sealing was rightly done of EVMs, VVPATS and other relevant material.
