Another Shock To KCR Daughter

Elections for 539 Zilla Parishad (ZPTC) and 5,817 Mandal Parishad (MPTC) were held in three phases on May 6, 10 and 14 in over 32,000 polling stations set up across Telangana. The counting of the votes is taken up today and results are declared in most of the places much to the delight of the TRS cadre who indulged in celebrations after their party candidates emerged winners in many places.

The ruling TRS party sweeps the elections by bagging majority of Parishads. Nonetheless, TRS faces defeat in Telangana CM KCR’s daughter Kalvakuntla Kavitha’s hometown Pothangal. BJP won Pothangal MPTC seat with 95 votes majority. This is another shock for Kavitha who recently lost Nizamabad MP seat to BJP candidate Dharmapuri Arvind.

It is known that, BJP lost all the seven segments of Nizamabad in the Assembly elections. Surprisingly, in a short span of time, the party rose like a phoenix from the ashes with party candidate Dharmapuri Arvind wresting the seat from sitting MP Kalvakuntla Kavitha.

Besides, a major shift of votes from the Congress to the BJP, the saffron party made inroads into almost all sections this time giving a solid dent to the TRS vote bank.
