Many are under the impression that coming from an influential family will give direct access to stardom, name and fame in any profession. Same is the case with stardom in film industry.
Actresses like Kangana Ranaut have been more vocal and raising voice against nepotism in Bollywood. Though none have been vocal in Tollywood, silently many speak against nepotism in Tollywood too.
This raises a question of whether nepotism in T-Town gave stardom. There are heroes from many illustrious families like Mega Star Chiranjeevi, Nandamuri family, Super Star Krishna, Akkineni family, Manchu family etc.
True that whenever a new hero from these families enter the film industry, they get good support and fillip which other newcomers do not get. However, this did not help them in getting any stardom.
From Mega family except for Pawan Kalyan, Ram Charan and Allu Arjun, others are still struggling to gain recognition in the industry. From Nandamuri family except for Balakrishna and NTR, others failed to make an impact. Same is the case from Akkineni family, where except Nagarjuna and to some extent Naga Chaitanya, others failed to score a hit and even Akhil got three disasters.
Similarly, from Super Star Krishna family only Mahesh Babu attained stardom. Others like Ramesh Babu disappeared while Sudheer Babu is struggling for stardom. Manchu family is the best example as to why nepotism does not give instant stardom and recognition. Despite Mohan Babu having recognition for his terrific dialogue delivery, his children Vishnu, Manoj and daughter Lakshmi failed miserably.
There are many such instances where filmi background didn’t yield stardom and so all the talk and huge cry over nepotism is just utter nonsense.
