Blockbuster Opening For Hindi Arjun Reddy

Arjun Reddy initially got mixed reviews from critics. While some lauded Vijay Devarakonda’s performance and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s brilliant direction, few others slammed for the bold content. Similarly, the film’s Hindi remake Kabir Singh also received a fair amount of criticism for being a scene-for-scene copy of Arjun Reddy and glorifying violence in the name of love. Several critics have also hit out at the film makers for glamorizing misogyny.

But, the response from public is completely different for the Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer film which is off to humongous start at the box office. On day one, Kabir Singh earned up to Rs 21 crore nett in India alone. This is bigger opener for Shahid Kapoor starrer film.

According to trade reports, Kabir Singh has not only tapped into urban centers of India but mass-dominated areas also have shown excellent occupancy. The film also registered a rare feat. It is the highest opener for A rated films in India.

Bookings for Saturday and Sunday are said to be huge. As per trade pundits, the day two number will be bigger to day one collection.
