Star producer Allu Aravind has teamed up with directors Nitesh Tiwari of Dangal fame and Ravi Udyawar of Mom fame for the three part Ramayana film series. Madhu Mantena and Namit Malhotra of Prime Focus will co-produce the 500 Cr mega budgeted film to be shot in 3D and released in Telugu, Hindi and Tamil.
The makers are yet to select actors for the Ramayana film series, which is likely from Hindi, Tamil and Telugu to give it a pan-India appeal. As announced by the makers, the first part of the epic will release in 2021. Team Ramayana hope to avoid long gaps between the three parts.
Pre-production includes reference work for scenes in Ayodhya; Lanka will be depicted in a wash of gold; Mithila will be green with Nepali architecture. Regular shoot of the film will commence from early in 2020.
