Puri Jagannadh is thoroughly enjoying the response he is getting for his film Ismart Shankar and is making some bold statements against top Tollywood stars. Even before the film’s release, rumors spread that the film was copied from a Hollywood film. Though the makers remained silent, after watching the film, many felt that it was a rip off from Hollywood hit Criminal and British sci fi thriller iBoy. Puri added masala elements in his own style.
Now, Puri Jagannadh got a huge shock when a case has been filed against him by Jai Akash who was renowned for his lover boy image and hit films like Aanandam and Anandamanandamaaye. He said Ismart Shankar's brain transplant belongs to his film Naan Yaar which released in 2016. He added the film's Telugu version Kottaga Unnadu is slated for a grand release soon.
He said, “When I went to watch Ismart Shankar last Friday in Chennai, I was shocked to find that the core plot line and screenplay of the film were the same as my film. I even sent him the documents of proof, but neither he nor his manager responded.”
He revealed, “C Kalyan, President of South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce, is looking into the issue”. Akash said he wants share in Ismart Shankar copyright adding, “After watching Ismart Shankar, who will watch my film now? I need to alter the script and reshoot the film, so I want to be compensated appropriately.”
He further said, “If the film is being remade in other languages, the money made from it should also be given to me”. People are waiting for Puri iStyle retort to these allegations.
