Vijayashanti who endeared herself to movie lovers with her performance as Ramulamma, later entered politics and tried to make a mark. Meanwhile, she turned emotional and the reason for that is the shocking demise of former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj due to heart attack.
Vijayashanti, who is currently in Congress shares good relations with Sushma Swaraj. Recollecting her association with Sushma Swaraj, she shared her feelings in an emotional letter.
She said, “In 1998 Jan during a foggy morning in Delhi, I met Sushma Swaraj when I was joining BJP. She asked people to serve a hot tea to Tejaswini, my screen name in Tejaswini, Hindi remake of Kartavyam. From then on till her last breath, we used to adore and respect each other. When she contested from Bellary as MP, current vice president Venkaiah Naidu was the party election in charge. It was a memorable association with her addressing 40 meetings, rallies for 8 days on a whirlwind tour.”
She continued saying, “In some states during train journey when I got lower berth, I remember Sushma saying with a smile 'meeru baaga jumps, fights chestaru kada.. upper berth teesukondi'. When I was fighting for Telangana in the Parliament, Sushma remarked 'Arichi Arichi naa bidda gontu poindi, hot gulab jamun thinte sardukuntundi'. During KCR fast unto death, when many leaders in Delhi refused to meet us, the moment I asked, she along with many others spoke in support of us. When I was suspended from TRS, she came to me in the parliament and said 'Naa bidda nijayithi paruralu, dhairyavanthuralu thanaku nenuntanu’.”
Vijayashanti said while penning these words, her eyes were rolling down with tears.
