Although the union and state governments are taking iron-fisted decisions to curtail the spread of horrendous coronavirus, people seem to have shown no containment with the rules imposed upon them.
"Many people are still not taking Lockdown seriously. Please save yourself, save your family, follow the instructions seriously. I request the state governments to get them to follow the rules and laws," the prime minister Mr Modi tweeted grievously.
De facto, there had a been a terrific support by the people on self imposed 'Janata Curfew' on Sunday. But then, the elation of the union and state governments with the success of the curfew didn't last long.
A total of 13 state governments declared complete Lockdown upto 31st of this month. Dismally, most of the people were seen not embracing the Lockdown. They came out of their houses and roamed on the roads in groups. Furthermore, buses, markets and other public places were merely filled with people in Delhi and many other places of India.
In consequence, the union and state governments have imposed many constraints on the people right now. According to the reports, no domestic air-crafts will operate from Wednesday. All passenger trains were also cancelled by Indian railways.
The Telangana government imposed curfew from 7 pm to 6 am. One thousand autos and three thousand bikes were seized by the Hyderabad police on Tuesday. The DGP warned the violators to lodge civil and criminal cases.
Perhaps, the messages were rightly conveyed to the people by the government and the police department.
What's now needed from the public is not to become the stumbling blocks for the governments' measures to prevent the deadly coronavirus. Instead, they need to get themselves confined to stay at homes during the Lockdown period.
