Despite the violent face-off at Galwan Valley between Sino-Indian troops on June 15, the army engineers completed the construction of the 60-metre bridge over Galwan river in the Eastern Ladakh which is said to be the most sensitive zone.

With this move, Indian infantry can move across the river and can protect 255 km road from Darbuk to Daulat Beg Oldie which is said to be the last military post just South of the Karakoram pass.

The construction of this bridge was the main reason the Chinese troops made a desperate attempt to cross the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

Though 20 Indian Jawans were martyred in the brutal attack by the Chinese troops, they succeeded in killing 43 soldiers of the Chinese army.

On the other hand, PM Narendra Modi, during the all party meet, proclaimed that no single inch of our land was occupied by the Chinese troops. Further, he stated India's strength had been increased enormously and is ready to give fitting retort to any sort of attacks by other countries.
