This Day That Year: Chiru’s Emotional Note

Megastar Chiranjeevi wrote an emotional note on the occasion of completing 42 years in the industry. His first film Pranam Khareedu was released on September 22nd in 1978. He said September 22nd is equally prominent in his life like his birthday on August 22nd.

“While august 22nd was the day I was born, September 22nd was the day I was born as an actor,” says Chiru who on the special occasion thanked all his fans and movie lovers. “#BornAsAnActor #ForeverGrateful #PranamKhareedu #thisdaythatyear ,” he tweeted.

Pranam Khareedu is based on a play written by popular writer CS Rao. It is the debut film for character actor Kota Srinivasa Rao as well. Chiranjeevi started his film career with Punadhirallu. However, his first released film was Pranam Khareedu.

It starred Jayasudha, Rao Gopal Rao, Chandra Mohan, Chiranjeevi, Reshma Roy, and Madhavi in a guest appearance. The film directed by K Vasu was produced by Kranthi Kumar.

Chiranjeevi became megastar on his own without any filmi background and he scored numerous blockbusters, but his first release Pranam Khareedu will remain to be a very special film in his career.
