Kollywood superstar Rajinikanth enjoys huge fan following and fans go any extent to show their admiration towards him. For long speculation went on about his political entry and when Rajinikanth announced few years back that he would enter politics everyone got excited. However, he kept on delaying taking the full political plunge and suspicion increased about his intentions.

Finally, political heat increased as Rajinikanth announced that he would reveal the party name and flag this year end. But he gave everyone a huge shock when he retreated from the political battle field even before his entry. This disappointed all his fans and speculation increased as to what could be the reason behind his decision.

Some say Rajinikanth's daughters forced him to retreat from politics following the vivid scare in the sets of Annaatthe and also his admission in hospital due to fluctuating BP levels and doctors advising complete rest.

Others say Rajinikanth withdrew from entering politics as internal survey predicted a crushing defeat to his party in the coming Tamil Nadu assembly elections and also the changing political equations with actor Vijay revealing his intentions to enter politics.
