Telugu cinema has always had a soft spot for classical dancers in their films, from Vyjayanthi Mala to Bhanupriya, Shobhana, and Manju Bhargavi to name a few. Another popular Kuchipudi dancer, Sandhya Raju, the daughter-in-law of businessman Ramalinga Raju, is all set to make her Tollywood debut soon with the film Natyam. The actress isn’t new to the arclights and has already acted in the Malayalam film Careful besides another short film.

Natyam is a film that explores the unique relationship between a dance guru and the student in a backdrop discussing the origins of temple dance forms. The teaser of the film was launched by actor Jr NTR yesterday. A dialogue in the film equates dance to a form of storytelling and how it fascinates a young girl. Written, directed, edited by Revanth Korukunda, the film was extensively shot across temples in Hampi, Lepakshi, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

Malli Raava, Prema Ishq Kaadhal composer Shravan Bharadwaj has been roped in as the composer for the same. Surprisingly, Sandhya Raju right in her Telugu debut has got Dil Raju to distribute her film.
