Tollywood beauties like Keerthy Suresh, Rakul Preet Singh, Ileana, Hebah Patel, Avika Gor, Anjali, Nivetha Pethuraju and Eesha Rebba are now chanting lean Mantra showing off their slim physique in a cool manner after shedding weight.

Keerthy Suresh who spellbound all as Mahanati surprised all with her slim avatar in Miss India. Saiyami Kher shed ten kgs for her role in Nagarjuna's Wild Dog. Hebah Patel who gained weight, worked in the gym to become slim for her special song in Red.

Producer Lagadapati Sridhar says nowadays heroines are following a strict diet and hitting the gym to be slim and get more offers opposite heroes who are sporting macho physiques. He said heroines are chanting the lean Mantra as Genex movie lovers are fitness freaks. He says movie lovers dream their Tollywood beauties to sport physique like Bollywood and Hollywood actresses. This is pressurizing heroines to work in gyms and share their pictures on social media to attract fans and filmmakers alike.

Hebah Patel says she didn't shed weight for film offers but to lead a healthy lifestyle. She added that for quite some time she was under strict fitness and diet regime. She says slim may help in modelling but in films, it should be coupled with actions and expressions.

Saiyami Kher who worked strenuously for three months to shed weight for her role as a RAW agent in Wild Dog says shedding and gaining weight depends on the vision of the director. She says reducing weight drastically must be done scientifically and under the strict guidance of a trainer to avoid health issues.

Producer C Kalyan says weight loss is not as easy as it looks and cites the examples of Anushka and Ileana who faced a lot of difficulties. Ileana gained weight for Amar Akbar Anthony but got thumbs down for her appearance. Anushka who gained weight for Size Zero couldn't shed it and come back to shape and lost many golden offers subsequently.

Director Hemanth Madhukar who directed Anjali in Nishabdham says weight-loss is all about fitting a persona on screen. He cautions against weight loss obsession and point out that with the advanced techniques in filmmaking, actresses without spoiling their health and career can look according to the role on screen with the help of computer graphics and prosthetics. He adds few actresses do not look good when they lose their chubby looks.
