Makkal Selvan's Take On Tamil Uppena

Megastar Chiranjeevi's nephew Vaishnav Tej's debut film Uppena is breaking records at the box office in Tollywood. It even crossed Ravi Teja's Krack collections in just four days. The film is becoming the talking point in other industries also and rumours are spreading that the film would be remade in other languages.

Now reports are coming that a star hero's son will be starring in the remake. Buzz is Buchi Babu Sana planned to dub Uppena in Tamil as Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi had immense craze in Kollywood. But Vijay Sethupathi who knew the pulse of Tamil Tambis recommended against it.

There is reason behind Vijay Sethupathi's suggestion. Uppena has fishermen backdrop but Telugu fishermen’s lifestyle is different from Tamil fishermen. He felt if Uppena is told in their style it will appeal to them. He suggested the makers not to waste good story unnecessarily by dubbing it. Reports are coming that Vijay Sethupathi is keen on acquiring Uppena Tamil rights. Buzz is he is planning to remake it with Kollywood top Star Ilayathalapathi Vijay's son Jason Sanjay. Sources reveal that Vijay Sethupathi narrated Uppena story to Vijay during Master shooting and he loved it completely. He is yet to take the final decision. It has to be seen how Tamil tambis will receive Uppena if remade.
