Venky Grabs The Offer

Drishyam that came eight years back in Malayalam was an instant sleeper hit. The unanimous appreciation made the film to be remade in Tamil with Kamal Haasan and it was remade in Telugu with Venaktesh Daggubati.

While Drishyam 2 starring Mohanlal directed by Jeethu Joseph was released recently on February 19 on Amazon Prime. Despite the sequel being in much talk, none of the stars part of the original film didn’t evince any interest. With the sequel getting release on OTT rather than having a theatrical release made the heroes more skeptical about starring in sequel.  

Opinion On Drishyam 2 Changed Overnight

However, with Drishyam 2 getting tremendous response from netizens and positive reviews from critics alike, Daggubati brothers seized the opportunity. Daggubati brothers who are frontrunners in grabbing remake immediately took the decision. So Venkatesh Ddaggubati will be part of Drishyam 2. 

Suresh Babu not only garbbed the Telugu remake rights of Malayalam Drishyam 2 but also bought the director Jeethu Joseph. The picture of them is now viral on social media. The Telugu Drishyam was directed by Sripriya but for the sequel Daggubati brothers have brought in Jeethu Joseph.

Venkatesh and actress Meena wil continue with their roles in the sequel. The rest of the actors are likely to be mostly from Mollywood. The Daggubati Brothers are planning to complete the movie in a single schedule as soon as possible.
