Sai Dharam Tej's upcoming entertainer Republic is generating tremendous interest among movie lovers. The film which was supposed to release in theatres a long time back got delayed due to a coronavirus pandemic. Since longtime rumors spread that Republic is readying for an OTT release.
Now, these rumors are turning out to be true. According to the latest, the makers got a fancy deal from a renowned OTT platform. Inside talk is the film's digital rights, dubbing rights, satellite rights, theatrical rights fetched a whopping Rs 40crs from ZEE 5 OTT platform. Sources say this is a record deal for Sai Dharam Tej's film.
Inside talk is since the director Deva Katta of Prasthanam and Autnonagar Surya fame completed the film in a very short time, producers got more profits than they expected. The agreement also says producers Bhagavan and Pulla Rao will receive 18% revenue from the profits from the film's theatrical release.
Buzz is Zee Studios closed the deal in February itself when the second wave did not start. But they made profits of over Rs 32crs from Sai Dharam Tej's Solo Bratuke So Betteru and so they left no stone unturned to acquire the rights of the Republic.
Republic features Ramyakrishna in an important role and Aishwarya Rajesh as the female lead. The makers planned to release the film on June 4th but corona spoiled their plans. Under these circumstances with the OTTs coming with fancy offers, the producers decided to close the deal.
