Tollywood biggies are intensifying their efforts to convince KCR and Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Ministers of two Telugu states Telangana and Andhra Pradesh respectively. It is known that shootings started after the first wave of the coronavirus but the opening of theatres got delayed.
Now the same situation seems to be repeating after the second wave of coronavirus. Shootings are slowly starting but confusion is there over the opening of theatres. Recently distributors and exhibitors held a meeting regarding the same. In Vijayawada too similar meeting took place. They have to convince AP CM Jagan and efforts are on in that manner.
Sunil Narang of Asian Cinemas said it is possible to open theatres in Telangana only after the lifting of the night curfew in the state. He added that Naga Chaitanya, Sekhar Kammula's Love Story will be released only if that happens. Everyone supported his view in the meeting. They also planned to put forward other important issues and resolve them before the resumption of releases.
Exhibitors decided to meet Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivasa Yadav along with Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna and put forward the issues like ticket rates, entertainment taxes, parking fees, canteen problems, and request him to solve them. It has to be seen what decision the Government will take on it.
