Narappa OTT release: Behind the scenes happening

When the news of the Narappa release on Amazon Prime OTT came out, everyone got a huge shock and Venkatesh's fans got angry. They even protested against the OTT release. Many exhibitors and distributors openly expressed their anger on Suresh Babu, producer of Narappa.

Analysts wondered why Suresh Babu, a top producer did not wait till normalcy returns and release the film in theatres. Venkatesh fans angrily advised Venkatesh that he shouldn't do any more films under his brother Suresh Babu's banner. They said when Balakrishna who is facing flops is waiting to release his films in theatres, why Venkatesh is in a hurry for an OTT release when he scored hits like F2 and Venky Mama.

Venkatesh speaking with scribes two days ahead of Narappa's release on OTT, duly apologized to all his fans. Now Suresh Babu speaking to scribes, revealed why he decided to release Narappa on OTT. It is known that Narappa is the remake of the Tamil hit Asuran.

Suresh Babu said when he watched Asuran, right after the first half he called the producer Kalaipuli Thanu and spoke about the remake. Kalaipuli Thanu also showed interest and became the co-producer for the Telugu remake. Suresh Babu said Kalaipuli Thanu called a few days back and said he made losses as Karnan which was released before corona's second wave in theatres got affected as theatres were shut down due to the second wave. He said with all the talk of the third wave of the corona, he cannot take the risk of releasing Narappa in theatres and said he will go by the fancy offer made by Amazon Prime. Suresh Babu said since Kalaipuli Thanu suffered losses earlier, he cannot force him to hold back. Suresh Babu added even Venkatesh is against OTT release but both are helpless.
