Exhibitors and owners of Telangana who met yesterday fired on all cylinders and attacked Natural Star Nani after the makers of his upcoming film Tuck Jagadeesh announced the OTT streaming on September 13, the same day the makers of Naga Chaitanya's Love Story announced the theatrical release.

This shocked all as the same exhibitors remained muted spectators when top producer Suresh Babu released his brother Venkatesh's film Narappa directly on OTT and confirmed that his films Drushyam and Virataparvam will follow the suit. Many felt that Nani was targeted as he has no filmi background. Some even felt that two films releasing on the same day is not uncommon and the release date of the films solely depends on the producers.

Following the backlash, Telangana Theatres Association released a statement, apologizing to Nani. The statement read "Few exhibitors had high expectations on the movie ‘Tuck Jagadish’ and when it is learned that the said movie has opted for OTT release, few of them have outspoken on an individual capacity, this was only out of anguish, this was not against anyone neither personally nor professionally. We sincerely apologize to everyone if a few of our exhibitors have hurt someone. We once again reiterate the fact that all of us in the trade belong to one family and we are striving only for the betterment of the trade and not against anyone"
