The coming two months and especially the Sankranti season is extremely crucial for Tollywood to survive as many big-ticket films are releasing in theatres. The first-week collections are crucial for theater owners, distributors, and producers for survival. In this context, multiplex and theater owners have approached the Telangana High Court seeking permission to increase ticket prices.

In fact, the owners of multiplexes and theaters have initially appealed to the government in this regard. They asked for permission to increase the minimum by Rs 50 per ticket. However, with no response from the Government in Telangana, Theater owners have filed petitions in court.

After hearing the petitions, The Telangana High Court has recently issued interim orders to increase ticket prices. It has made it clear to the Telangana government that theater owners should be allowed to sell tickets at the prices they want until the authorities make a final decision. The High Court's decision came as a breather to the theatres and especially those in the industry.
