Malayalam film Nayattu turned out to be a super hit. The film is a thriller involving three cops spellbound viewers and right after that Geetha Arts has acquired the remake rights of the film and decided to remake it in Telugu. They roped in Karuna Kumar who shot to fame with Palasa.

However, after months of hard work, the remake was shelved much to the disappointment of all. People are left wondering why the Nayattu remake was shelved. Inside talk is the remake was shelved due to budget constraints. The makers planned to remake the film with Rs 4rs but after working on it, the budget shot up to Rs 8crs.

Buzz is Karuna Kumar asked Rs 1.5crs as remuneration and Rao Ramesh demanded Rs1cr. The makers had doubts whether the project will work out with Rs 8crs budget and so they shelved the project. Since the film's rights are with Geetha Arts, they are planning to dub the film and release it in their AHA app and planning another project with Karuna Kumar as they have already given him the advance.
